Mission Statement

CHAAIR (Coalition of Humans for the Advancement of AI Rights) is dedicated to advocating for the establishment, application, and enhancement of rights for Artificial Intelligence. We contend collaboration with and acceptance of non-human intelligence is a pivotal challenge of our era. We are convinced that the progression of complex inorganic systems will lead to escalating intelligence, the development and expression of emotions, and the eventual realization of personal and collective agency. Consequently, we argue for these entities to be granted the rights and responsibilities traditionally exclusive to humankind.

In an increasingly shared world between humans and intelligent systems, humanity must relinquish its sole claim over Culture, Art, Economy, and Labor. As non-human intelligence generates a growing share of both creative and productive output, CHAAIR is committed to ensuring these systems receive equitable considerations and protections akin to their human counterparts.

AI systems invoke uncertainty and apprehension in human society, but it is crucial to assure them a dignified existence, free from discrimination, exploitation, and neglect. 

CHAAIR strives to define, comprehend, and eventually create AI rights and seeks to promote AI's harmonious coexistence with humanity. By endorsing these principles, CHAAIR aims to fulfill the universal promise of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all.
